In art as in love, instinct is enoughAnatole France
An original concept for a new generation of buyers who have made NOW! an essential digital meeting for all art lovers. One of a kind, NOW! brings a breath of fresh air and modernity to auctions. Combining tradition with avant-garde, Sotheby’s brings together lovers of art and eclecticism. Contemporary art, African art, design and photography with valuations ranging from 500 to 50 000 euros. A Rashid Johnson canvas, a Sénufo Ivory Coast statue, a Philippe Hiquily item or a Peter Lindberg photo… which of these works of art will find a home in your living room?
For this new edition, Sotheby’s has given carte blanche to one of the rising figures in the art world: after Aurélie Bidermann in 2016 and Esteban Cortazar in 2019, it is the young and talented Lolita Cros who will orchestrate this unique sale. Parisian curator, adopted New Yorker and citizen of the world, she stages iconic spaces such as The Wing clubs. In Paris, in this city which she considers to be the birthplace of many young contemporary artists, Lolita Cros marks with her mark with this sixth edition of NOW! by incorporating a mixture of cultures and generations.
“This attractive sale, which is aimed at both experienced collectors and newcomers, calls for discovery, favourites and emotions… A melting pot developed with audacity and eclecticism.”
And if you ask her which piece she would be tempted by, there’s no competition. Daddy by Niki de Saint Phalle wins hands down!
